Back in 1906 planning and development was started on a prestigious and distinctive prominent garden subdivision, today known as Grand Boulevard or Boulevard. It was designed to attract affluent and prominent families to the North Shore of Burrard Inlet. After the disastrous earthquakes in San Francisco at that time, Grand Boulevard was laid out as a generous fire break. Prestige was guaranteed through minimum construction cost standards and restrictions on buildings and landscaping. Many of these beautiful Boulevard homes are still standing today and still carry that same charm that was originally set out. Just minutes from the Boulevard is Sutherland Secondary School and a 2 minute drive will put you at Lynn Valley Centre, Safeway, and Save-On-Foods, Lynn Valley Village and public library. Or head West to Lonsdale for additional shopping and quick access to Downtown Vancouver with the SeaBus.
